Bringing Financial Literacy Closer to Every Child
QuanQuan began with a simple question: What if every child could learn about money through something they already know and love?

As Tô Hồng Ánh explored ways to make financial education more accessible, she recognized that many students in rural and remote communities have fewer opportunities to learn about managing money than their peers in urban areas. She wanted to create a learning experience that would not depend on expensive resources, complicated concepts, or prior knowledge.
Vietnam’s rich tradition of folk games offered a natural starting point. Among them, Ô Ăn Quan stood out for its familiar rules, strategic thinking, and emphasis on making decisions with limited resources. It was a game that children could easily learn, play together, and enjoy - while discovering lessons that extend beyond the board.
From this idea, QuanQuan was born: a traditional Vietnamese game reimagined as a hands-on introduction to financial literacy. Through every move, children can begin to explore how to manage their resources, make thoughtful spending decisions, and consider the consequences of their choices.
For Ánh, financial education does not have to begin with complicated formulas or textbooks. Sometimes, it begins with a handful of game pieces, a familiar board, and the opportunity to learn through play. Through QuanQuan, she hopes to bring practical financial lessons closer to children who need them, turning an everyday childhood experience into a meaningful step toward greater financial awareness and confidence.
